​To a European, and especially a Brit, it might seem odd to think of going to New York City to discover more about home boy Banksy.Then again, where better to park an expansive collection of Banksy art than in the wild beating heart of consumerist USA.Better, plop this new Banksy Museum in Manhattan's Chinatown during an election year.You are within steps of cheap Make American Great hats sprouting red hair on the one hand, or minotaur dolls with a pig's tail and a Trump face on the other.You are not only in a Mecca of soon-to-be-landfill political potpourri, but also in a discovery center of plastic gadgetry galore, and just about anything else you can imagine that shares the identity of being stuff with no quality.

In contrast, the third finger flavored political expressions preserved in the new Banksy Museum are a sanctuary.Some of Banksy's images take aim at the soul of America.

You may have seen Banksy work in situ before. You may have seen collections of Banksy or even visited his Walled Off Hotel in Paris.Here though, in the New York Banksy Museum you see a retrospective of sorts.The graffiti murals that are Banksy's stock in trade are displayed in such a way that none compete with the others. You feel like you are walking a maze of alleys all with the Banksy imprimatur.We saturate in Banksy irreverence.We linger with the detailing in the re-created Walled Off Hotel guest room—- thinking of the heavy US bombs now being deployed in Gaza and paid for with US tax dollars.
