Belize

AO-Belize-1

Belize will celebrate 40 years of independence from Britain during 2021, having been declared an independent nation on 21 September 1981.

Belize is located on the eastern coast of Central America, with Caribbean Sea shorelines and dense jungle to the west.

Offshore, the Belize Barrier Reef is dotted with hundreds of low-lying islands called cayes, which hosts rich marine life for snorkelling and diving.

Belize's jungle areas are home to Mayan ruins like Caracol, known for its towering pyramid, the lagoon-side Lamanai and Altun Ha, just outside Belize City

Four Seasons Resort

Located on a private island in Belize's largest marine sanctuary, Caye Chapel will open in 2021.

Situated on the edge of the country's UNESCO World Heritage-designated Barrier Reef, the 280-acre private island will be Four Seasons' first resort in the country.

It will have an 18-hole golf course by Greg Norman and a nature centre by ocean explorer and conservationist Fabien Cousteau.
