Flight-free travel company Byway has launched a rewilding partnership with reforestation organisation, Mossy Earth.

Encouraging travel by train, boat and bike, Byway's rewilding referral programme plants a native tree in Scotland for each referred customer booking their first slow travel holiday.

Anyone wanting to join the movement has only to generate themselves a unique code via the website and share it with friends.

Each friend will get 50 pounds off their first slow travel holiday and Byway and Mossy Earth will plant a native tree along river banks in the Kyle of Sutherland as part of a rewilding project in Scotland.

This will help the capture of carbon, create vital habitats for terrestrial wildlife and help reduce the impacts of climate change on Scotland's Atlantic salmon.

Historically, much of the Scottish Highlands was covered with a forest of majestic Scots pine and colourful broadleaf trees, home to an enormous diversity of plants and animals.

Mossy Earth is a social enterprise looking to restore wilderness and fight climate change through rewilding and reforestation initiatives.
