Byway, a travel company launched during the first pandemic lockdown, in early 2020, offers slow, 'hyper-personal' trips, taking travellers off the beaten path by train, boat and bike.

Trips are currently available across the UK, France and Italy, with the most popular destinations currently the Scottish Highlands, Cornish Riviera, Burgundy and the Yorkshire Moors and Coast.

France's Alsace region and Corsica are in demand.

All trips include accommodation and are fully protected by ABTAAs the world gradually emerges from Covid 19, research shows would-be travellers are looking for more connected and conscious holidays with journey-based trips focused on 'travelling through, rather than flying over'.

Off-the-beaten-track experiences are also in demand.
