Iceland’s ice cave season

Arctic Adventures is highlighting Iceland's ice cave season, which is possible from October to April.

During the season, visitors can enter naturally formed caves and winding glacier tunnels in various regions of Iceland, guided by knowledgeable local experts.

Blue light glows through the crystal walls, sometimes streaked with black ash—silent reminders of past volcanic eruptions.

Ice caves reshape each winter, forming in the cold months and melting by spring.

Each season reveals new formations, so no two visits are the same. However, there are also year-round glacier experiences available.

In partnership with the Nature Conservation Agency of Iceland, Vatnajökull ice cave tours run from October to April.

Visitors can also explore Iceland's glaciers year-round on Sólheimajökull, Langjökull, or Mýrdalsjökull.
