Lisbon Heritage Hotels

Lisbon, which is Portugal's capital, is located on Europe's west coast near to the Atlantic Ocean and on the RiverTagus.

A cosmopolitan city, it offers visitors a balance of history and culture with the beach close by.

Lisbon Heritage Hotels comprises five boutique hotels in a range of Lisbon locations including on the banks of the river in Santos, in Lisbon's oldest neighbourhood or on its main tree-lined boulevard Avenida da Liberdade.

Properties include an 18th century palace, an Art Deco hotel dating back to the 1940s and an 18th century townhouse.



Visitors to Lisbon can consider :

  • Parque Eduardo VII, which offers the most impressive views of the centre of Lisbon with the Amalia Rodrigues garden and drinks on the Linha D'Agua terrace
  • A riverside walk to MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology) that takes in a large part of the riverfront before arriving at the museum
  • Jardim Botânico da Ajuda, a botanical garden dating back to 1768 with over 5000 species of plants
  • the stretch from Lisbon to Cascais, which has a large beach and alfresco dining
  • the Ponte 25 de Abril bridge
  • Jardim da Estrela with its the jacarandas, dragon trees, araucarias along with ducks, geese and peacocks
  • the Tapada das Necessidades (Park of Necessidades), one of Lisbon's finest parks, with grassy areas surrounded by exotic plants, statues and abandoned historic buildings. This was once Queen Maria II's home.
  • the Parque das Nações, which was regenerated for the 1998 World Expo, and
  • Alfama, Lisbon's oldest neighbourhood, with cobbled, tight alleys.

Lisbon Heritage Hotels

As Janelas Verdes

An 18th century townhouse that was once the home of writer Eça de Queiróz.

This 29 bedroom boutique hotel is located in-between the chic neighbourhood of Lapa and the design district of Santos on the banks of the River Tagus.

Solar do Castelo

The only hotel located within the walls of Lisbon's São Jorge Castle, on the top of Alfama, Lisbon's oldest neighbourhood.

This 18th century small palace has been transformed into an intimate 20 bedroom hotel with a small garden for guests only.

Heritage Avenida Liberdade

This 18th century building hotel is located on Lisbon's main boulevard, in the historic heart of the city.

Hotel Lisboa Plaza

Also situated just off the Avenida da Liberdade the hotel is home to a bar, terrace and cafe is the largest of the Lisbon Heritage Hotels.

Hotel Britania

Located off this tree-lined boulevard on Rua Rodrigues Sampaio, this1940s Art Deco building was part of a project by illustrious Portuguese architect Cassiano Branco.

Guests will encounter marble columns, vaults and frescoes all in the striking lobby.
