Louisiana, the Pelican State, wants visitors to 'get active and venture off the beaten track' with its Year of Outdoors 2026.

The year-long initiative will showcase Louisiana's natural beauty, rich flora and fauna, and recreational opportunities alongside the state's culinary and musical scenes.

The Creole Nature Trail

The 187-mile long Creole Nature Trail takes in bayous, marshes and beaches.

This All-American Road offers an introduction to Louisiana's 'outback', home to untouched wetlands, wildlife viewing, including excellent birding and small fishing communities offering fresh seafood.

The Louisiana Hot Sauce Trail

This gourmet trail visits sites such as The Louisiana Pepper Exchange and celebrates local manufacturers such as Tabasco on Avery Island.

Visitors can also check in at different stops along the trail to earn points to redeem for prizes.
