The M.Ou.Co. is a new hotel and cultural space in the Bonfim neighbourhood of Porto, Portugal's second largest city.

Music is at the heart of everything at M.Ou.Co, which has be converted from a former warehouse.

It comprises a 62-bedroom hotel, 50-seater restaurant, bar, garden with alfresco dining, outdoor swimming pool, music library with musical instruments for free hire and a concert hall with a capacity of 180 seated and 300 standing guests.

The hotel's motto is Stay. Listen. Play, with guests staying in bedrooms named after songs and featuring either a kitchenette and lounge area with ground floor rooms leading on to small private gardens with access to the outdoor swimming pool.

In addition, M.Ou.Co. runs music workshops and arranges concerts in the city.

A turntable and use of vinal records, a guitar and a keyboard can all be hired for free from reception to be used in the bedrooms accompanied by headphones.

The hotel also offers a programme of music concerts featuring national and international musicians.

Porto's historic centre and the Luís I Bridge (Ponte Luís I) over the Douro River along with the monastery of Serra do Pilar are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
