The Santikos Collection has completed major refurbishment of its Marpunta Resort on the Greek island of Alonnisos, which re-opens on 9 May 2018.

Originally an old fisherman's village, Marpunta Resort is located on Alonnisos, the most Easterly island of the Sporades.

With a population of under 1,000 and because of its more isolated position, the island provides a serenity and simplicity that is not always found on other Greek islands.

Alonnisos is surrounded by Greece's first national marine park and has a number of private and secluded beaches.

With cobblestone streets, the traditional 'Old Town' of Alonnisos is set high on a hill is utterly charming.

The resort itself is situated in a private pine forest and has 119 rooms and suites, farm-to-table cuisine and three private beaches.

As part of the refurbishment, the entrance to the hotel is being transformed, major landscaping works have taken place in the gardens and the pool area will benefit from a complete re-design and expansion.
