Montenegro

The Balkan country of Montenegro has mountains, medieval villages and a narrow strip of beach along its Adriatic coastline.

The Bay of Kotor, resembling a fjord, is dotted with coastal churches and old coastal towns, including Kotor, Budva, Bar, Herceg Novi and Centijine.

There is 294 km of coastline and the Bay of Kotor is known for its spectacular scenery – towering cliffs plunging into tranquil, deep blue waters.

Montenegro has national parks including the Durmitor National Park, with bears and wolves, limestone peaks, glacial lakes and the Tara River Canyon

Inland, Lovcen National Park is home to the mausoleum of Petar II at the top of the mountain.
