Samoa
Situated in the South Pacific between New Zealand and Hawaii, Samoa is promoted as the Treasured Islands of the South Pacific – the true heart of Polynesia.
Samoa Tourism is offering five reasons why the island is worth a visit.
The Beaches
Held as one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world, Lalomanu Beach offers views of the Pacific Ocean and the mountains of Upolu.
Visitors can opt for a traditional beach front accommodation and spend the night in one of Samoa's beach fales.
An overnight stay in these local huts offers the chance to share the life of the local villagers.
Natural Beauty
The "Taga Blowholes" are created when sea water is pushed through the cavernous lavas stone, and results in fountains as high as 60 meters.
Reef breaks around the islands provide fine surfing.
The Samoan People
Samoa's rich cultural heritage can be explored through the Samoa Cultural
Village, the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum and in everyday in Samoa's 360-plus villages.
Fa'a Samoa is a 3,000 year old way of life guideline for every Samoan on how to lead their lives by celebrating and embracing traditional values, their culture and environment.
Island Hopping
A day trip to Manono Island gives the chance to hire a car to explore the island and choose from a range of activities including the Rainforest Canopy Walk.
There is also a hanging bridge on the island of Savaii and the Falease'ela River Walk or a scenic inland drive along the Le Mafa Pass on the island of Upolu.
Waterfalls and water slides
The Sua Ocean Trench, which is accessed via a long ladder (or from a daring jump off the ladder), is turquoise waterhole/lava tube cave offering a unique swimming experience.
Located in the village of Lotofaga, Fuipisia Falls is a spectacular 55m high jungle waterfall, while Papaseea Sliding Rocks (natural water slides) are found in the tropical Falealupo Rainforest Reserve.
