Most visitors to Hot Springs, Arkansas seek some kind of connection to nature. Hot Springs is both a town AND a National Park—and both have boomed because of the natural, hot spring water gushing forth after more than 4,000 years below ground. A sensational stay at Starlight Haven only adds to the natural wonder of Hot Springs.
Located 4 miles from downtown Hot Springs, Starlight Haven offers a serene escape into nature, seamlessly blending the beauty of the outdoors with the charm of the nearby historic town. My days were filled with exploring the town and the National Park, but my evenings were spent enjoying the peaceful ambiance of the forest, quiet moments in the hot tub, with stars illuminating the clear Arkansas skies. Starlight Haven is not just a place to stay; it is a deluxe mix of simplicity and nature. On the hillside, a range of "treehouses" and yurt-like suites offer a selection of accommodations.
But I stayed in a private geodome. Available in premiere, deluxe, or couples deluxe, these domes offer a panoramic floor to ceiling view of the treetops. The premiere domes provide an elevated experience with modern conveniences and a cozy ambiance, perfect for small families. Deluxe domes enhance comfort with added space and upscale features, ideal for those seeking a more luxurious escape. The couple's deluxe domes are tailored for romantic getaways, featuring private hot tubs and scenic views to create an intimate setting.
My deluxe dome was equipped with a queen bed draped in luxury linens, a charming loft with twin beds, and a private bathroom. A kitchenette allowed me to heat up leftovers—and if I wanted to, whip up simple meals. All amenities are included, from dish soap to fluffy bath towels.
Most people visit Hot Springs, Arkansas, for its natural thermal springs, historic Bathhouse Row, outdoor activities, art galleries, and vibrant downtown. I made sure to get into town often, and some of my favorite Hot Springs stops included:
Exploring Garvan Woodland Gardens, a 210-acre botanical garden 20-minutes from town offering stunning landscapes, walking trails, and the iconic Anthony Chapel. Having a bath—the experience is more industrial than modern spas and harkens back to the city's and park's founding. Visiting fun spots like the Gangster Museum to get a unique take on the area's history, and popping into Deluca's Pizzeria—an Italian restaurant with arguably one of the best cheeseburgers west of the Mississippi.
