Singapore’s green spaces

Singapore is a city-state and island country in Southeast Asia, which is located off the southern tip of the Malay peninsula.

Its economic rise in past decades saw the creation of a landscape of towering architecture with nature weaved throughout.

Green building has been mandatory in Singapore since 2008 and a mandatory code for residential and non-residential buildings applies to all new building works.

The code has seen the increase of green roofs, cascading vertical gardens and verdant walls all over Singapore in recent years.
