The Broadmoor, which is the world's longest-running Forbes Five Star and AAA Five Diamond property, is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018.

Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, the Broadmoor sits within 5,000 acres with its own canyon with mountain waterfalls.

It encompasses Cloud Camp at 9,200 feet up Cheyenne Mountain, the Ranch at Emerald Valley and a Fly Fishing Camp on the banks of the Tarryall River.

There's a zip line experience that is longer than a championship golf course, and a championship golf course where Jack Nicklaus won his first major title, and where the U.S. Senior Open will be played in June.

The resort offers784 rooms including the new Estate House, a 12,000-square-foot mansion originally built in the 1930s that looks to emulate a Gatsby-esque elegance and style.

On site, there are 10 restaurants, including Colorado's only Forbes Five Star and AAA Five Diamond Penrose Room; another 10 cafés and lounges; a Forbes Five Star spa and three golf courses.

Centenary celebrations

While the Broadmoor will officially turn 100 years old on 29 June 2018, with fireworks and the opening round of the U.S. Senior Open, there will be a year-long programme of special events and activities.
