The Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic shares the Caribbean island of Hispaniola with Haiti.

With nine distinct ecological zones it's known for its beaches, resorts and golfing with a terrain comprising rainforest, savannah and highlands, including Pico Duarte, the Caribbean's tallest mountain.

Capital city Santo Domingo has Spanish landmarks like the Gothic Catedral Primada de America dating back 5 centuries.

The Dominican Republic is known for off-the-beaten-path excursions, a rich culture and a fine year-round climate.

There are hiking trails to little known beaches and the chance to explore ancient relics, savour the local Dominican fare, or experience ecotourism adventures in the national parks, mountain ranges and rivers.

Dominican Republic features a variety of sports, recreation and entertainment options, cultural experiences such as dancing and carnival festivities, plus Dominican specialties such as cigars, rum, chocolate, coffee, amber and larimar.

The country's airports and hotels have implemented Covid 19 protocols for the safe reception of visitors with random testing being carried out at all airports.

Hotels and resorts are also adhering to health and safety protocols that conform to the WHO recommendations.
