The ancient fortress of Masada

This UNESCO World Heritage site offers a historical experience and, following the Israeli tradition, visitors are advised arrive early to witness the sunrise slowly colour the dark valley sitting at the steps of the mountains.
The snake trail provides hikers with the challenge they seek and for those wanting to skip the walk, cable cars provide stunning views on their way up to the fortress dating back to the first century BC.
Skiing in Mount Hermon
Skiing in Mount Hermon, is another way to experience the mountains of Israel in a unique way.

It is the only place in the region that attracts skiers, and is only open to skiers for a short window of time each year (roughly 50 days at the beginning of the year).
In the Summer, Mount Hermon offers hiking and biking trails for those who still want to experience the spectacular mountainous landscape outside of ski season.
