The US Space & Rocket Center, Huntsville, Alabama

The US Space & Rocket Center showcases rockets, achievements and artefacts from the American space programme.

Located near NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, the museum features exhibit's including an authentic Saturn V rocket, the Apollo 16 command module and a full-sized model of a space shuttle.

Each year, the Center's Space Camp provides hands-on experience for students of all ages to train like astronauts.

Space Camp students attend classes and mockups where they participate in simulated space missions.

Trainees of all ages learn space and flight history, work together as teams, experience simulators, complete simulated space missions and learn what it really means to be an astronaut.

COVID-19 forced the closure the Rocket Center, which closed in March 2020 though it reopened in late May, but with far fewer than normal visitors.

Space Camp did not reopen until June, and then with only a low percentage of its usual attendance.

The Save Space Camp campaign has received support from around the world and has already $1.5 million to sustain museum operations and reopen Space Camp in April 2021.

Over 8,000 people and corporations from all 50 states and 36 countries have contributed to the campaign
