Veranda Resorts, Mauritius

Veranda Resorts in Mauritius is reopening the Veranda Tamarin, at one of the island's most renowned surfing locations, in November 2018 following a six-month renovation.

The Veranda Tamarin will join four Veranda Resorts on the island.

Located on Tamarin Bay on the island's west coast, the boutique resort will appeal to surfers and water sport enthusiasts who will be encouraged to mix with local surfers and the community in the hotel's bars and restaurants.

The concept behind the new design is set to preserve and reflect the authenticity of the destination, and the unique community spirit of the Tamarin Bay village.

It will feature community spaces where guests can meet with locals and learn the art of Mauritian living.

The new Veranda Tamarin will feature an additional 50 rooms as well as a fully-refurbished existing rooms, to offer 116 rooms accommodating between two and three people with views facing out towards the gardens, mountains, swimming pool and the Tamarin Bay.

The resort's location will lend itself to water sport and beachside activities, with nearby attractions including Les Salines of Tamarin (salt pans that are over a century old), the Casela Nature & Leisure Park, the Chamarel Coloured Earth, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Le Morne.
