Freeride enthusiasts are well catered for in Verbier with 11 marked off-piste itineraries, including Mont Gelé, a rocky sentinel of powder snow, which at 3,023 m marks the heart of Verbier's ski area.
Mont A cable car gets to the summit in three minutes and a view of the Alps with the Grand Combin massif in the foreground.
The four exposed faces offer a variety of snow conditions for experienced skiers with two options: to the east, a 4-km long itinerary with 975 m of descent taking you to Tortin; and on the south face, a 3-km long downhill with 758 m of descent reaching La Chaux via the Cabane Mont-Fort.

Le Châble
Le Châble is the capital of the commune of Bagnes and is a small village that has the Dranse de Bagnes flowing through it.
The village is linked to Verbier and Bruson by cable cars that leave directly from the resort.
Its central location means visitors can get to the Petit Combin (3,663 m), Rosablanche (3,336 m) or the Trient Glacier (3,000 m) and long runs.

The Upper Val de Bagnes
The villages of the Upper Val de Bagnes are a favoured destination for nature lovers.
Dominated by mountain peaks, this is Switzerland's second largest protected area providing the winter home for marmots, ibex and chamois.
Along the Dranse de Bagnes river, the villages of Lourtier, Fionnay, Sarreyer and Bonatchiesse of peaceful visits and good food.

The Val de Bagnes
Val de Bagnes, in the Bruson, region is a typical mountain village, with small wooden chalets covered with snow during the winter months.
The village has access to 26 km of slopes and open forests for freeriding and ski touring, hosts a qualification stage of the Freeride World Tour annually.
The No Limits Bruson Freeride Tour (FWT Junior), attracts more than 250 skiers and snowboarders eager to take on the sheer faces of the Pointe de Sésal or the Six-Blanc.
The Bruson-Verbier gondola also provides easy access to the 4 Valleys ski area.

La Tzoumaz
the village of La Tzoumaz is located at 2,200 m on the northern slopes of Verbier overlooking the Rhône valley.
The Savoleyres ski area here is directly connected to the pistes in the 4 Valleys.
With its two north- and south-facing slopes, it offers some of the best snow cover, maximum sunshine and views of Verbier and the surrounding peaks.
It offers freeriding in the Vallon d'Arbi; tobogganing on one of the longest slopes, the permanent "Verbier race experience" slalom and the "Audi Quattro Funslope" fun trail.
