White Horses Run Wild At Prestwick

With the season of the winter storms battering Scotland, I took a wander onto the promenade at Prestwick Beach to see the latest storm roll in. Though we may not get the monster waves that roll into the south of England from the Channel or the coast of Ireland from the Atlantic, the scene was still wild and beautiful.

It was the lure of the sea and countless memories of a happy childhood spent on it's shores that lead me to settle in Prestwick on the west coast of Scotland. There is however so much more going on in and around this friendly little town.

Just an hour from the centre of Glasgow by bus, train or driving, there's easy access to all of Scotland and beyond from Prestwick. The local presence of Glasgow Prestwick International Airport means that you are also not so far from the sun with flights from here reaching such destinations as Costa Blanca, The Canary Islands, Majorca and The Algarve.

Home to world class golf courses, one of the stops along the rugged Ayrshire Coastal Path and the nightlife hub of Ayrshire with a Main Street full of Pubs and Restaurants, there's plenty to attract the traveller to Prestwick. Sure, the storms are wild as the views are beautiful but there's also much more to like about Prestwick.
