Paul Bernhardt is a features writer and photographer based in Lisbon, Portugal. He cut his teeth as a press photographer in England, covering hard news, sport and features, before relocating to sunnier climes and focussing on travel-related topics. He is the sole author of Dorling Kindersley’s Eyewitness Travel Top 10 Algarve guidebook and a contributing photographer for Lonely Planet’s Pocket Lisbon guidebook series.

His work has been published in Traveller magazine, The Daily Mail and Travel Africa magazine, among other UK publications. He has also collaborated with Ontario-based Planetware.com.

Between assignments he is the Lisbon contributor for 10best.com, a division of USA Today.
