After traveling the world and living in 40+ countries for my work, the pandemic and family reasons brought me back to my roots - Ireland. I am Irish by birth, French/Spanish/Belgian according to my DNA, a bit of Swedish and German thrown in from my time in Stockholm and Berlin, and my heart lies in Malta. I'm drawn to islands and places off the tourist radar - hence the name of my new travel blog - Hideaway Haunts. Islands are places to escape to, far removed from the stress and hustle & bustle of continental life and cocoon you in their warm community bubble. I have two small daughters who now have itchy feet too and we're discovering new places for fantastic family getaways on a budget.
