Journalist Profile
Lisa Snell has been traveling independently since an overly hectic organized group tour experience in 1989. After years of waking up in the wrong port, ending up on the wrong end of the train, and totally missing that exit, she's decided to write about it and share her photos.
She's the author of American Indians and Route 66, a travel guide produced in cooperation with the American Indian Alaska Native Travel Association and the U.S. National Park Service.
Lisa is a journalist, graphic designer, photographer, wife, and most importantly, a mom. She's also a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma who has covered American Indian news since 2003. She's written for the Cherokee Phoenix, Native American Times, Native Oklahoma, and Native Peoples.
