Chobe Game Lodge

AO-Chobe-1

Desert & Delta Safari's Chobe Game Lodge has completed its fleet of fully electric, solar-powered safari boats.

The luxury lodge is the only safari lodge to operate a full fleet of electric boats and is a leader in ecological and sustainability initiatives.

Chobe Game Lodge, which is the only permanent game lodge in the Chobe National Park along the Chobe River, has been awarded full eco grading by the Botswana Tourism Board.

Sustainability is at the core of Desert & Delta's CARES philosophy, providing guests with a wilderness experience while preserving the outstanding natural beauty of some of Africa's most pristine conservation areas.

Each of the high specification boats are fully customised and cost approximately $50,000 to convert.

The electricity is supplied by a solar field that was specifically constructed to provide power to on-site electric game vehicles and contribute to Chobe Game Lodges' main power grid.

The Chobe National Park has the world's highest concentration of elephants and is one of Botswana's most reliable year-round game and predator viewing destinations.

Wildlife roams in abundance during the dry season, and the electric safari boats give guests the chance to see vast herds of buffalo congregating on the fertile flood plains along the Chobe River.

There are also frequent sightings of lion, African wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope.

Desert & Delta Safaris has seven camps in northern Botswana's game reserves and national parks with an eighth one across the Chobe River in Namibia's Eastern Caprivi Strip.

All Desert & Delta properties are close to airfields and some of the lodges have their own private airstrips.
