Travel publisher Lonely Planet has named Malawi in its Best in Travel list for 2022.
Malawi is a small landlocked country in south eastern Africa with a landscape of highlands split by the Great Rift Valley and the huge Lake Malawi.
The lake's southern end falls within Lake Malawi National Park and shelters diverse wildlife and Peninsular Cape Maclear is known for its beach resorts.
Malawi is placing real focus on conservation revolution, with its National Parks and Wildlife Reserves being successful examples.
Malawi also thinks of itself as the Warm Heart of Africa' and has long been recognised as having friendly people and welcoming local communities.
