Great Plains, the tourism conservation organisation founded by Dereck and Beverly Joubert, will open a new Zimbabwe camp for the Spring 2022 season.

Mpala Jena Camp is a private concession within the Zambezi National Park near Victoria Falls, offering a unique and unforgettable Zimbabwean safari experience.



Mpala Jena Camp will be located in the Zambezi National Park along the tree-lined banks of the Zambezi River.

It comprises thatched roofs in the main areas and luxury canvas tents for the bedrooms.

The 138,000acre National Park has an ever-increasing number of wildlife species, with higher concentrations of buffalo and elephants from June through to October.

It has some of the highest lions per density of any Zimbabwean park, with the river providing sightings of crocodiles and hippos.

The area also offers bird watching throughout the year, with a higher diversity of species from November through April.

The Zambezi National Park is also withing driving access from Victoria Falls,

Mpala Jena is located 10 miles inside the Zambezi National Park and with a short drive to Victoria Falls town and the Victoria Falls themselves.
