Palais Amani Fez : Morocco

Morocco's second city of Fez is often referred to as the country's cultural capital.

It offers visitors the UNESCO Fes El Bali walled medina, with medieval Marinid architecture and vibrant souks.

The medina is home to religious schools such as the 14th-century Bou Inania and Al Attarine, both decorated with elaborate cedar carvings and ornate tile work.

With no beach, Fez is often overlooked as a destination.

Palais Amani, Fez

The independent art deco Palais Amani is located in Fez's medina among the souks.

It showcases the finest authentic and traditional Moroccan decoration with a large garden at the centre of the palace filled with orange trees where birds are permanent residents.

Each of the 18 bedrooms and suites are different both in design and layout and a rooftop bar is open in the day and evening

The Fez Cooking School at Palais Amani

The hotel's Fez Cooking School combines a food tour of the medina followed by a cookery class in the new cookery school on Palais Amani's roof terrace.
