The Swazi Culture & Scenery Trail

Eswatini, also known as Swaziland,is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, bordered by Mozambique to its northeast and South Africa to its north, west and south.

Eswatini is one of the smallest countries in Africa.

Chubeka Trails is the trailing arm of Big Game Parks, with horse trails on Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary.

Hourly rides are concentrated on the southern plains, sometimes crossing the river and including a little forest riding and overnight trails exploring the mountains.

Chubeka Trails cater for beginners and experienced riders, with horses of various breeds and sizes and a rider's weight restriction of 95Kg.

The horses, which have been selected and bred for comfort and trained for easy riding, include a great variety of cross-breeds with foundation stock of Arab, Warmblood, Boerperd and thoroughbred blood, and the addition of Percheron, Friesian, Clydesdale and Shire crosses.

The Swazi Culture & Scenery Trail by Big Game Parks is a 10-day itinerary that includes a 6-day horse trail with three days safari visiting all three of Eswatinia's Big Game Parks.

The first day of riding is spent at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary to enjoy the wildlife at close proximity and to help confirm the horse-rider partnerships.

The following day will see riders head for the hills on the start of a 5-day circular trail for a true trailing experience.

Highlights include the infamous Nyonyane Mountain, exciting river crossings, trailing through one of the world's largest commercial forests, traversing through rural Swazi Nation Land, and climbing into the uninhabited mountains of Mlilwane North with views across South Africa, Eswatini and Mozambique.

The accommodation aligns with the Big Game Parks diversity theme, with beehive huts on Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, rondavels on Hlane Royal National Park and the Mkhaya Game Reserves Stone Camp.
