Amtrak reaches 50

Amtrak is a passenger railroad providing a medium and long-distance intercity service in the USA and to nine Canadian cities.

Amtrak set up their headquarters in Washington DC in 1971 and is now in its 50th year of operation

The railroad's Northeast Regional route is a good way to explore the Capital Region and US's North East coast.

It takes passengers from Roanoke or Norfolk in Virginia, through DC and into Maryland, before continuing North to Massachusetts.

With numerous stops, Amtrak provides a way to explore the Capital Region USA without a car.
