Arabian Light

AO-Bellamy-1

The Osborne Studio Gallery, London, UK

17 to 28 May 2022

Arabian Light is an exhibition of 50 paintings by watercolour artist, David Bellamy.

These feature ancient cities; mountains and deserts; Arab street life and its cafes; souks; card players and music makers and belly dancers.

The artist has written notes on his adventures and encounters in the region over many years.

These are available with descriptions of his favourite places and early influences.

David first visited the Middle East in 1963, when RAF service in Aden kindled his interest in the Arab world.

He has published 21 books on the subject of watercolour painting and his fascination with the wildest wild places.

He also organises tours and workshops in the UK and America and leads groups of leisure painters into 'demanding terrain' such as the Andes and Himalayas.

Arabian Light will be at Osborne Studio Gallery, 2 Motcomb St, Belgravia, London SW1X 8JU
