Catalonia the World Region of Gastronomy
Catalonia is the 2025 World Region of Gastronomy, a distinction awarded by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, and Tourism (IGCAT).
Catalonia is an autonomous Mediterranean region in north-eastern Spain with its own language (Catalan), government and a strong sense of identity.
The World Region of Gastronomy recognises Catalonia's 'gastronomic revolution goes beyond restaurants to showcase the region's unique local products'.
The Award serves to raise awareness of the importance of cultural and food in the region.
