Explora is now offering its private guided nomadic journey to remote regions across the border of Chile and Bolivia year-round.

Available with itineraries from seven to 11 nights, Travesía Atacama & Uyuni explores the Atacama Desert, the world's driest desert outside of Polar Regions, and the white expanses of the Uyuni Salt Flat of Bolivia, the world's largest salt flat.

Traveling from Atacama to Uyuni, the route weaves along the Qhapaqnan of the ancient Inca trail through highlands dotted with volcanoes, lagoons, geysers, and monumental rock formations.

Hiking, biking, and van excursions reveal life in local villages and breathtaking terrain, with some spots so removed that even locals don't know about them.

Designed for well-travelled explorers who prefer adventure far off the tourist track, the Travesía is an immersive way of traveling and exploring the Altiplano of northern Chile and western Bolivia, where the Andes Mountains are at their widest.

Travesía Atacama & Uyuni is geared to two or more guests, with an Explora-trained guide and local driver, and nights spent at various Explora Lodges or Mountain Lodges.
