Herm, the Channel Islands

AO-Herm-1

Herm, one of the Channel Islands, is located in the English Channel and a 20 minute boat ride from Guernsey

Car free and just 1.5 miles long, the north end of the island offering sandy beaches and the vast grassy common, where woolly mammoth roamed millions of years ago.

Neolithic settlements have been found, and digs have uncovered evidence of a prehistoric beach.

The east coast beaches, Shell and Belvoir, offer soft white sand and clean blue water for swimming.

The south coast has high cliffs, winding flower-lined paths overlooking white foam waves.

On the other side of the island the harbour village is the hub of island life focused around The Mermaid Tavern.

The White House Hotel has been established on the island for many decades.

Prestige Holidays has a three night stay in a cottage room at the White House Hotel
