La Fosse is a restaurant with rooms in the Dorset village of Cranbourne.

It is situated among the counties rolling hills and close to the New Forest National Park and with historic houses and gardens in the surrounding area.

The south-west English county of Dorset itself is known for the Jurassic Coast, a long stretch on the English Channel where the cliffs contain many fossils.

Two prominent natural landmarks are Durdle Door, an ancient stone arch, and the layered cliffs at nearby Lulworth Cove.

The towns of Poole, Weymouth and Swanage are popular for their sandy beaches.

La Fosse is housed in a Victorian property and offers six bedrooms named after local cheeses.

It is run by Chef Mark Hartstone and his wife Emmanuelle, with The Restaurant at La Fosse

Mark cooks by himself and cooks to order using locally sourced locally produce and cooking with the seasons.

Mark initially trained as a Geologist and Petroleum Engineer before 'having an epiphany' and deciding to follow his passion of cooking.

This led to his working in the kitchens of some of Europe's top chefs, reaching the finals in four national chef competitions and winning the National Seafood Recipe Challenge
