Poznan

AO-Poznan-2

The lesser-known Polish destination of Poznan has coloured houses standing in the shadow of churches and other historic architectural lining cobblestoned streets.

There is a lively arts and culture scene and a range of bars and restaurants.

In March 2023, the city was added to the MICHELIN Guide, in good company with Warsaw and Krakow that were already on the list of top culinary cities.

Polish and international influences on Poznan's cuisine sees many based on regional dishes known as 'Wielkopolska'.

Some of the most popular dishes are based on the potato or Pyry, as they are known in Poland, and Poznan has a museum dedicated to the potato.

Paczki are Poznan's traditional doughnuts as is the St Martin's croissant.

Poznan Cathedral, located on the island of Ostrow Tumski is dedicated to the apostles St Peter and St Paul, and the Porta Posnania is an interactive heritage centre for this landmark.
