Prestige Holidays has launched a nine night escorted tour taking of the Shetland and Orkney Islands departing 17 May 2021.
Orkney is an archipelago off the northeastern coast of Scotland. The islands encompass Neolithic sites, tall sandstone cliffs and seal colonies.
Shetland is a subarctic archipelago in the Northern Isles of Scotland, situated in the Northern Atlantic, between Great Britain, the Faroe Islands and Norway.
Highlights include a visit to Shetland's UNESCO Old Scatness, a Broch and Iron Age village, and the archaeological site of Jarlshof.
There's also a boat trip to the Noss Wildlife Reserve, one of the most spectacular wildlife sites in Europe, the white sands of St Ninian's Isle with the UK's largest active sand tombolo.
The Orkney section includes a tour of the Highland Park Distillery and stop offs at the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar and Stones of Stenness.
There is also a visit to the iron age broch and chambered cairn at Midhowe and a journey along Scapa Flow, where the German fleet was scuttled during the first World War.
