The ADLER Lodge RITTEN, South Tyrol

AO-Adler-new-lead

ADLER has opened its ADLER Lodge RITTEN, a year-round resort in the foothills of the South Tyrol mountain range.

South Tyrol is Italy's northernmost province and was once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and offers an Alpine landscape.

The new hotel, which is situated in a forested landscape, is near to the city of Bolzano, which Forbes recently short-listed as one of the best Italian spots for a fall or winter holiday.

The berbozen/Soprabolzano cable car stop offers a 12-minute ride down to Bolzano, with gondolas leaving every four minutes.

The city is home to the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology; the 5,000-plus-year-old relic of Ötzi the Iceman; a 13th-century Mareccio Castle, which is surrounded by vineyards; and the Duomo di Bolzano cathedral, a blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture.

ADLER Lodge RITTEN guests looking to explore the rest of the area can use the Rittnerbahn historic narrow-gauge railway, which stops 200 meters from the hotel, so a car is not needed during the stay.

Guests at ADLER Lodge RITTEN can enjoy a relaxing winter holiday that's removed from the major Dolomites ski areas with activities including snowshoeing (in winter) and hiking.

ADLER Resorts

The Sanoner family opened their first small inn in 1810, and now have a portfolio of five hotels comprising the ADLER Lodge RITTEN along with three spa resorts in Italy's Dolomites mountain region and one in Tuscany.
