AO-High-Tatras-lead

The High Tatras or High Tatra Mountains, are a mountain range along the border of northern Slovakia in the Prešov Region, and southern Poland, and are a range of the Tatra Mountains chain.

The National Park High Tatras (Vysoke Tatry) is the only Alpine type mountains in the Carpathian Mountain range, and are referred to as 'the smallest alpine mountains in Europe'.

The High Tatras offers mountain peaks and lakes of glacier origin, waterfalls, unique plants and rare animals like chamois (mountain goat) or marmot.

The region offers sports travel, active adventure, health and wellness along with cultural and historical monuments.

Hiking the High Tatras is particularly popular with paths ranging from gentle to highly demanding.

They were voted #1 European destination to visit on Lonely Planets 'Best in Travel' list 2019.

Enjoy Tatras, which is a DMC that promotes the Tatras and Liptov Mountain region, is looking to raise awareness of this spectacular natural environment and to attract tour operator partners and a new wave of travellers.

It works with hotels and pensions, ski resorts, aqua and thermal parks, medical spas along with winter and summer sports providers and amusement parks.
