The London Festival of Hope
The London Festival of Hope, supported by The O2, is a yearlong programme to inspire families and adults to rediscover London as the Capital re-opens.
Festival of Hope is a pioneering festival with a varied programme of events where the past and present collide.
There's a true celebration of life with :
- a nationwide art and photography contest
- competitions for all the family including an amateur 'bake-off'
- community activations
- giant inflatables taking over London's West End, and
- a series of outdoor live music concerts
Wishing Trees
19 to 27 June 2021 (various locations)
The wishing trees will featuring hopes and dreams for the future from listeners of BBC Radio stations across the UK, and their uplifting messages will be shared on colourful ribbons.
Children and adults to write their wishes and tie to the specially installed tree.
The idea was inspired by the Japanese tradition called 'Tanabata', using specially erected bamboo trees in the hope that wishes come true.

Children's Art Competition
Running until 9 July 2021
Over 200 artworks produced by children of all ages across the UK will be on display at The 02, Greenwich.
The competition attracted over 500 entries as young people created a special piece of art inspired by all things British.
This embraced the clap for carers, to their mate who kept the memes flowing during lockdown, to their teacher for being cool, to their Mum for just being their Mum, to our diverse 'national spirit'.
