Unplugged digital detox cabins
Unplugged, the UKs off grid cabin escape has added a cabin in North Wales to its portfolio.
It currently has 18 UK cabins, in the countryside 1-to-2 hours drive of major cities, with plans to expand to 40 by the end of 2023.
On arrival at the eco-friendly cabins, guests are asked to lock their digital devices, including mobile phones, in a lockbox for 72 hours.
This is seen as the optimum, minimum time needed to improve wellbeing, get better sleep and tackle other problems associated with high screen time, such as brain fog, poor sleep quality, anxiety and a lack of productivity.
Marley is situated in the Dee Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and, on arrival,
guests can swap their digital devices for an old school Nokia mobile, an instant camera with film and a physical map to explore the area.
For Marley, this includes Horseshoe Falls; The Cornmill waterside pub/restaurant in nearby Llangollen and whitewater rafting and canoeing - courtesy of Bearded Men Adventures.
As with all of the Unplugged cabins, Marley is sustainably built and runs on solar power.
Unplugged is a concept from entrepreneurs Hector Hughes and Ben Elliot, who also offer Unplugged Out Of Office, a corporate scheme.
