Hotels with terraces in Palma, Mallorca
The Mediterranean island of Mallorca, or Majorca, is the largest of the four SpanishBalearic Islands, which also take in Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.
Its capital, Palma, is a vibrant city of cultural abundance and contrast.
Palma's old town has seen a genuine renaissance in recent years with by the opening of new boutique hotels helping with the revival of this historic city.
New additions include the Hotel Basilica just off the Plaza Sant Francisco and the C'an Alexandre Hotel close to Plaza España.
There are now 34 boutique hotels in Palma with the opening of the El Llorenç Parc de la Mar Hotel in Calatrava expected later this summer.
The restoration of Palma's historic "palacios" and manor houses, as hotel accommodation, has preserved the city's rich heritage and, in the warm summer months, they offer al fresco wining and dining with many offering rooftop and street side terraces.
Palacio Ca Sa Galesa, Palma Old Town
Located in the heart of the old town close to Parc de la Mar, the original owners converted a 16th century Gothic "palacio" into a 12 bedroom hotel, which opened in 1995 as one of the first boutique hotels in Palma.
The hotel has a terrace overlooking Palma Cathedral, the sea and the old town and features private "hamacas" and a pool.
Can Alomar Paseo, Borne
This iconic 19th century mansion is located on Palma's main Paseo del Borne Boulevard.
The baroque style of the building displays a grand facade, which is regarded as one of the finest in the city, and features two prominent large terraces overlooking Palma's Borne, the Palacio March and the Cathedral.
On its terrace bar a range of drinks, cocktails and champagne are served with light snacks.
A second terrace features the hotel's Tokio Lima restaurant combining Asian/Peruvian dishes.

Boutique Hotel Calatrava
The Hotel Calatrava is located beside the city's old seawalls in one of the most historic areas of Palma, with spectacular views across the sea and the old city.
The building dates back to the 19th century and has been restored on five floors.
The top floor features an elegant terrace with views over the Bay of Palma.

The Hotel Es Princep is one of the largest boutique hotels to open in Palma's old town and is located in the Calatrava area of the city beside the restored ancient city walls.
It has a vast rooftop terrace with pool called "Amaq, which offers views across the sea, Palma Cathedral and the ancient rooftops.
Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden, Palma Old Town
Opened at the end of 2018, this hotel, which opened at the end of 2018, has one of the largest private gardens in the Old Town where hotel guests and the public can enjoy a drink or a meal.
Palacio Can Marques, Palma Old Town
Located in Palma's La Lonja area, the owners have transformed an 18th century "palacio", and the former residence of the Marques family, into a luxurious boutique hotel.
The grand entrance hall opens up onto a 140 m2 patio that leads onto an interior garden and patio.
Hotel Nakar, Jaime III
Located on Palma's main shopping street, the hotel has a terrace on the 9th floor with views across the sea and the rest of the city, the Cathedral, Bellver Castle and the Bay of Palma.
The terrace also features a pool exclusively for hotel guests, although the terrace bar is open to the public in the evening for drinks and cocktails.

Hotel Hostal Cuba, Santa Catalina
The art nouveau architecture of the Hotel Hostal Cuba is a landmark in Palma where it has stood for over 100 years.
Its location is close to the sea and marks the start of the Santa Catalina area of Palma.
The hotel's Cuba Sky Bar on the top floor is open offers a panoramic view of the old city and the Bay of Palma.
